Defining Open Access
The Berlin Declaration on Open Access to Knowledge in the Sciences and Humanities states two main conditions
• Open access contributions must satisfy two conditions: The author(s) and right holder(s) of such contributions grant(s) to all users a free, irrevocable, worldwide, right of access to, and a license to copy, use, distribute, transmit and display the work publicly and to make and distribute derivative works, in any digital medium for any responsible purpose, subject to proper attribution of authorship (community standards, will continue to provide the mechanism for enforcement of proper attribution and responsible use of the published work, as they do now), as well as the right to make small numbers of printed copies for their personal use.
• A complete version of the work and all supplemental materials, including a copy of the permission as stated above, in an appropriate standard electronic format is deposited (and thus published) in at least one online repository using suitable technical standards (such as the Open Archive definitions) that is supported and maintained by an academic institution, scholarly society, government agency, or other well-established organization that seeks to enable open access, unrestricted distribution, inter-operability, and long-term archiving.
For WEENTECH Publishers all articles published including the data, graphics, and other materials, can be linked, re-used, scanned by external sources, search engines, blogs, website, technical publications etc. free of charge with only condition to provide deserved citation to the original source/publishers and authors. WEENTECH Publishers believe that open access publishing will lead the way for better research exchange and knowledge sharing among research communities worldwide. Though we publish all articles using open access model, it is to note that many research/review papers contains figures, tables graphs or text taken from other sources and WEENTECH Publishers does not hold the copyright for them. It is sole responsibility of authors/readers or person accessing the content to enquire and get the copyright from original publisher of the content and decision on if they can use it or not.
Open Access Cost (OAC).
General Information on OAC
WEENTECH Publishers publishes its all articles in full open access (link) using Creative Commons (CC BY) license. Having this enable scientific community across the world to gain access to all scholarly articles without any barriers and any mode of fee payment. The contents can be re-used provided suitable attribution has been given to original authors. Also to note several editorial items e.g. letter to editors, short reports, corrections, comments etc. are published free of charge.
In order to cover the cost so that we can provide very high quality publishing service and absolutely free access to readers, however authors pay one time open access cost for their manuscript only after peer review and on acceptance of their paper to be published. WEENTECH Publishers do not charge any fee for rejected, incomplete submission, no additional charge because of length of the paper, use of additional figures or any other additional data. OACs cover the following:
• Review process this includes full editorial cycle and related administration cost;
• Production this relates to typesetting, editing, final paper production;
• Hosting and marketing this includes website hosting, indexing services, updating and expenses related to cyber security
• Social responsibility at WEENTECH Publishers we try our best to invest back to research community by promoting Early Career Researchers (ECR), promoting research in developing
countries, providing conference support to PhD students, awards and prizes to promote research
• Discount and OAC waivers this support is provided to all editors and affiliated members of certain societies. We also take into account the quality of research and ability to pay – no
high quality research paper is turned down because of only author’s ability to pay the OACs.
• The OACs cost for all journals under WEENTECH Publishers can be found from OAC for Journals.
