Dr Karolos J. Kontoleon holds a Diploma Degree and a Ph.D. Degree in Civil Engineering from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTh), Greece. At present, he is an Assistant Professor at the Laboratory of Building Construction and Building Physics in the Civil Engineering Department (AUTh); furthermore, he is involved as a Collaborating Academic Staff Member at the School of Science and Technology in the Hellenic Open University (HOU). His main research interests concern building technology with a particular focus on the thermal response of building elements and the energy-conscious design of building envelopes. The title of his talk “Contribution of thermal inertia to the dynamic thermal performance of building envelopes“. Dr. Kontoleon will talk about role of thermal inertia to the dynamic thermal performance of building envelopes.
